I’m Zoë. So who’s Bobo? Self confessed drama queen. Big blonde lion hair mane. Prone to communicating through interpretative dance. Briefly took up figure roller skating in the early 90s. Obsessed with smoked salmon and leopard print. Lover of Motown music and bright colours. Geographically and directionally challenged. Big open heart. Requires daily sunshine and fresh air. Enjoys traveling, photography and writing stuff.
Truthfully, Bobo was the nickname given to me by my dad when I was hoisted onto his shoulders as a little girl. From up there, I could peer down at the world in wonderment. While I’m clearly too big and too old to do that now, I haven’t stopped being curious about life, the universe and everything.
So, I’ve decided to chase life’s adventure (but that doesn’t mean I wont stop and smell the roses along the way). Like many before me, I’ve thrown in a perfectly good job in advertising to take some time out to be spat on by llamas, run down by elephants and derailed by third world public transport. I cant wait! In amongst getting lost in a haze of weird and wonderful sights and sounds, I hope to meet some interesting people, learn new cultures, share my stories and hopefully make a difference along the way.
See you on the other side…

Hi Zoe and Tim – Just reading about all the food over in Peru – papas, corn, guinea pig -many varieties. We want to hear! Keep your legs strong for the walk over the Andes. xx Dad Annie

SO excited and happy for you two love birds, enjoy the rest of your travels and can’t wait to read more. Thanks guys! I actually buckled and tried one of the hairy rodents in the end. Not bad, but not my cup of tea either. Funny – Tim has been attracting stray dogs almost every day over here. It´s wierd – he must be some kind of dog whisperer or something!! Don´t tell Billie or she´ll be jealous! xx

Hey Zoe,
Am loving reading your blog!!! I still remember your first overseas adventure & I came over to your Mum’s at New Lambton and helped you pack the night before you left & then you rang me from the airport asking for some last minute advice & checking what I’d packed in your bag, ha ha!!! I think you were off to Thailand & Greek Islands then….anyways have an awesome holiday, enjoy & come home safe xo Kylie, Ray & Luka

Hehe! Thank you. Yes, I do like a laugh 🙂
Incredible blog! Do you live in Africa now, or are you just traveling? Are you working there? I liked the part about the lion’s mane. I have golden curly hair, and it definitely looks like a lion’s mane at times! Your posts are stirring my inner curious wild child. May be time to get back off the road…
Thank you! My travels through South Africa were part of my round the world trip (you know – quit the job, quest for adventure, want to do some good in the world). I’ve just arrived back home in Oz and am finishing off my blog posts on South Africa. I’ve loved writing and taking photos so much, that I’m going to continue my blog from here. It’ll be along the same vibe – curious about life, things that inspire me, chasing adventure etc. Glad to hear it’s inspiring you too!
Great blog and great idea! You’re very lucky to have the chance to take on such a big travel. I think everyone should just get up and go at some point in their lives, it makes for such an education experience!
